So we've decided to beat unarmed cancer researchers to death.

Its been a tough week here in CH. When someone is murdered, where you parked your car for 2 years each day, a mile or two from where you live, and its senseless (as murder is), it just makes the skin thin to morons.

The "morons" you insist on referring to are just people who are posting on this thread which had no hope to be taken seriously in the first place based on the fucking stupid title and opening poster. So there alone you set your expectations too high.

Second, move the fuck out of the sticks and check out a real city. "OOOoooooh, a homicide down the street. Save us, Jesus!!!" To use a worn out cliche, lighten up, Francis. It's a message board and a snarky one at that.

Its a crying shame and indicative of how these boards have degraded, thanks to some moronic posters.

Lets just remember this. An innocent person with a family was walking down the street and beaten to death with a rock in broad day light, 2 blocks from a major university. His crime? He had a wallet. Perhaps this one time we should all just STFU and think about this tragedy, his life and his family. We seem to devalue life more and more.

I know that's too much to ask for some.

This thread is awesome. Just now catching up.

Yes. Because enjoying a Lectro meltdown has relevance to .... Well pretty much anything.

No mocking allowed on the Gaza thread either!

Full respect to the deceased. This thread ceased to be about the deceased a long time ago. It became the wild world of Lectro about 2 pages back.

That's a pretty nice way to a) avoid the subject, b) misbehave, and c) blame it on other people.

What happened in Chapel Hill was an avoidable tragedy, the causes of which you are unwilling to embrace or address. So you do this crap instead.

So the class clown gets pissy when someone else tells a joke. "So we've decided to beat" him rhetorically. Your silly attempt at indignation undercut anything serious you were trying for.

I think he means that these guys should have been locked up for their previous offenses longer than they were, or that the professor and every other citizen in CH should be armed, or both.

Or that if the professor had been armed, then it would not have been such a heinous crime.

There is something there but not sure what it is.

Three sentences begat six replies. Pretty good ratio if I do say so myself.

because you are so damned awesome my man.

I agree with you, this could have been avoided if the men were incarcerated at the time the professor stepped out of his house. pretty scientific, really.

Where do you think the fathers of the accused will sit during their trials?

Statistically, in a prison cell somewhere.

And that's both awful and preventable. Until we candidly diagnose and address the structural issues of the families of origin of these killers, we're going to continue to see tragic stuff like this happening. But since we (yes, we) won't even talk about those issues, here we are and here we'll stay.
