So Devin really has one rebound and no points? How is that even possible?
So Wellman's gone, right? Football and basketball have shown that the last four years didn't build a foundation. Women's basketball just squandered four years of the best player in program history. Baseball presumably will fall short again. He's got to be gone.
It really is all Ron Wellman's fault. I just hope he hasn't doomed the program for good.
I don't think anyone at the University really cares. The fans, many alums I know, and folks here certainly do but I sense no one at the University has or will hold Wellman accountable
What you are saying is code for "This is where power conference college basketball is today. The only way to compete is to sell your academic soul and go after non-students to come and play on a temporary basis until they can leave for a professional team.."
And the saddest thing about this is that you are probably right. Or maybe that's the 2nd saddest thing about it. The saddest thing is that so many alumni actually want their school to do this. The very concept of "college athletics" doesn't even exist anymore at the power conference level. They are all basically just semi-pro teams temporarily wearing a college jersey.
If that's really the only win to win now, the price is too high for me.
Contrary to popular belief and setting the UNC scandal (and the KY and Louisville programs) aside, not all 4 & 5 star players are stupid. There are some pretty smart kids coming out of HS who also happen to be damn good ball players. They go to schools like Wake when Wake is good, otherwise, they make the smart choice and go to a school with good academics and a chance to win something.
Don't let facts get in the way of BKF's inherently racist old man worldview where colleges are being overrun by ignorant thugs who are taking spots away from deserving students.

Enabled by Hatch of course.
This team can't shoot.
That having been said, what I saw was a game in which no Wake Forest player emerged to take the role of leader.
As for Devin, he is [to borrow a phrase] a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.
Duke shot 52% from 3, and you're suggesting a zone? Why play man defense against a far better team?
Do we not have a zone?
Or some trick stuff like triangle and two, box and one.
