Still laughing that he is going from arriving at the house at 5am to likely arriving around 7:30. And will be all schmegged up and tired from a red eye.

If you understood the English language AT ALL rather than just trying to play gotcha, you'd understand that the people I didn't want to wake up were the people at my DESTINATION that I would reach at 5 AM.

But keep trying. Every time you do, you show your visceral classlessness and ignorance. If you tried to just to have some fun as opposed looking for a way to get RJ, you'd understand this.

P.S. Waking up a couple of teenagers a 5 AM is not something they would appreciate, but keep coming up with excuses to justify your erroneous bullshit.

as noted, that doesn't explain why you think putting them out to pick you up is less selfish than taking a livery service to their house, especially when the timeline (whichever one you use) seems to imply they will have to get up early-ish to get to the airport

My bad you know EVERYTHING that has been discussed among family members. You KNOW that I didn't bring this up. You KNOW how the discussions went.

I keep forgetting ALL OF YOU know MORE about my life and everyone else's than I or those involved do.

Yep. Even with your pickup timeline moved to 7, they'll still have to wake up before 6, based on your previous math. You'd be arriving right around the time they'll have to wake up to pick you up, if you got an Uber pretty much as soon as you'll be able to once deplaning, getting to uber location, etc. More importantly, you'll still save them 2 hours-ish of driving.

I think you should insist that they relax at home and you'll see them there. Works out better for literally everyone (you don't have to wait in an exhausted state, uber driver gets paid, they get to sleep/chill rather than drive in traffic. But hey, that's just my logic.
 
i mean, some families are nuts and insist on doing the ride to/from airport thing out of principle. maybe that's at play

Very true. For some reason I missed the family part, and thought he was visiting pals. You do you, RJ. Sometimes the elderly need to be talked through things, and I was merely trying to help!
 
I’ll fall on the sword and admit that I thought he was trying not to wake up an Uber driver. I now see that I misinterpreted his post.

Family to RJ: No, you just stay at the airport exhausted for 2 1/2 hours. We'll pick you up at 7:00am.

EDIT: This engagement is ground zero of why we have lost so many posters. There used to be hundreds of posters and new ones coming on. We are realistically down to a few dozen now. People got tired of those who strenuously told them they knew more about their lives and choices than they did and left.

Hell, Irish started this board to get away from turf. Now, Irish is basically gone and turf is back with vigor. You can't get a more perfect microcosm.

Bro, we're allowed to think this plan is totally illogical. That's our opinion. But that doesn't mean we're right, if it's super important to your family to be the ones to get you, that time on the road will be valuable catch-up time, etc. It's not something I'd ever do/agree to, but that doesn't really matter.
 
It's REALLY "logical" to wake up two teenagers hours before they normally wake up. One of them has a Halloween party Friday night. Why not wake her up at 5 AM and make her miserable with her friends later on? There are many things that go into a decision.

As usual, you and others decide what's best for others, act like all knowing assholes and go on the attack.

This thread is a PERFECT example of why we have lost so many posters. You and the others do this on other threads to other people. Many of those who have left tired of this.

What am I thinking? It's ALL my fault that you and the others jumped to conclusions over matters you don't anything about.
 
are you just visiting teens? have them sleep in until whenever. do they have school tomorrow?
