2022 College Football Coaching Carousel

Crazy that it’s a $15MM buyout and people are like “hey that’s not bad at all”. What a world.

was the new AD in place to make the decision or did whoever's still in charge make the call

What difference does it make ? New AD announced this morning. The writing's been on the wall for Harsin for weeks. Any competent AD you hire would have made the same decision. Timing is the only issue with Harsin's dismissal.

I know he was getting fired regardless just curious who made the decision. I assume since the new AD was announced he's not actually on the job yet. Maybe it was a condition of his employement.

Cohen has completely resigned from Mississippi State and is on the job at Auburn.

$41.5 million in buyouts for Harsin ($15mill), Malzahn ($21.54 mill) and Kevin Steele ($5mill). Just a sickening amount of money.

Also, the salary for the new AD is $1.5 mill a year.

Yeah, the former Auburn AD was only getting $625K/year.

After first watching the video, it seemed like the LSU player (#9) was out of line for punching/slapping the Ole Miss player (also #9). It looks like the Ole Miss girl grabbed the other plater by the waist out of frustration for losing the ball. Then, the LSU player punched/slapped her in retaliation.

But upon closer examination in slow motion that Ole Miss player may have aggressively pushed/or hit the LSU player in the back or head once or twice (~47s - 49s video mark) before the LSU player punched/slapped her back in retaliation (~50s video mark).

The 2nd LSU player (#38) throws a sucker punch after the original altercation was already over and the players were already separated and walking away. It seems like the actions from that player (#38 from LSU) deserved a stiffer penalty, then the players that were even involved in the original altercation (#9 LSU vs. #9 Ole Miss).
