MBB Game 3: Utah Valley Wolverines - Tuesday 7 pm - ACCN+

Shooting isn’t just some stat in a vacuum. We have question marks on offense for sure, but we forced them into a ton of bad shots and kept the intensity level high throughout. Woodbury in particular was on lockdown and had to force almost everything he took. So they had a guy shooting 11% from 3 taking 3’s. You can’t just say “oh we were lucky they didn’t shoot 35% from deep” when we executed on our defensive goals.

Darthard and Harmon are good players, and regardless of what he did last year Bandaogo is quick off his feet for a 7 footer. I always feel like the transition from football - where generally the better team wins over the course of an entire game - to basketball where any 100’ish Kenpom team can play well and beat just about anyone - causes lots of overreactions from fans.

We had a mediocre night generally, bunch of presses had near steals but bounced their way, they had a couple guys play great - and we still managed a win. This isn’t the bad omen game some are making it out to be.

Darthard was 3-7 from 3 and shot 37.6% from 3 last year. It was helpful that he fouled out near the end of the game.

Especially because Woodbury was 0-9 from 3 (was 4-9 in first 2 games and shot 34.5% two years ago - missed most of last season).

The other guys that missed a ton of 3s are all mediocre (but not terrible) 3pt shooters, so I do think letting them shoot was somewhat of a strategy.

So yeah, no need to panic... But I think it is fair to be concerned that a good 3pt shooting team would beat us soundly.

#9, hold the mayo, add pickles.
The thing about their pickles is that they are just the right amount of crunchiness, tartness, and sweetness. I've never once said, I really wish these pickles were a little more ___.

As Deacs, we should all endeavor to support our sponsor for this weekend by ordering from Jersey Mike's.

As good 3pt shooting teams tend to do in general.

The bottom of the ACC is horrific. WF appears to be slightly better than horrific.

But Steve Forbes is really likable and gives a great presser.

4 more years! Another 40 years in the Joel! All is great with Wake hoops!
Could've had John Pelphrey in the God Dome, people. Think of where we would be today.

Truly, however, the crowd and student section were atrocious last night. Glad they got loud for the winning basket but that has to improve. And yeah, let's gut and shrink the Joel or build something great and more appropriate. At this rate 5,000 would do it.

Last season's DFL wolpfack look much improved via the portal and can shoot the lights out.

They barely beat my Camels from a campbell the other day in a game they trailed late. They still stink

The combo of mayo and the hot pepper relish is great. I got an Italian, Mike's Way no tomato, add mayo, pickles, pepper relish, banana peppers. Told them I was doing it as a fan of a team in the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic and to make sure that feedback got back to corporate.

Yeah, you're right, I had forgotten momentarily how bad some of the other ACC teams are. So we should (hopefully) easily stay out of last place but I do think we're going to struggle in the conference.

ACC can be bad and we can still be pretty meh at the same time. Just too early to know. Ituka might be that guy, we'll just have to see.

I'm not convinced that Hildreth is going to fade into the background as the season goes on. Forbes has him out there for a reason, and I don't think it's just a "teaching" moment. These are real games against decent opponents, not the bottom-50 teams we played last season to start.

In a world full of McDonald's and Subways trying to take our money in exchange for the lowest possible quality, we have a Jersey Mike's trying to deliver us actual goodness. Please include them in your Thanksgiving prayers and salutations.

Has that asshole wfu22fan come around to walk back his unhinged Cam posts?

I saw a pic of NC State's arena last night and it was terrible. Wake's not the only one.

Yes schools should definitely shrink their arenas to only fir their attendance at a weeknight OOC game in November

Quiznos can f right off. Gave me food poisoning years ago. I was at my sister in law's house so it was not even home court. Went from sh!tty, uncomfortable futon to the actual sh!tter and back and forth... just brutal.
