MBB Game 20: UVA @ LJVM - Saturday 2pm - ESPNU

Yeah. But he has to play. The only other options are playing Bobi 20+ minutes or playing Lucas Taylor. Daivien's game is pretty limited except shooting in the corners, but for now that's not as limited as Bobi or Taylor.

Unfortunately injury or otherwise Davien has definitely been struggling the last few games and astonished he got that much run in a big game.

I’d take Bobbi with 20+ in a heartbeat as he provides D and rebounding which Davien does neither of as well as too inconsistent on O.

Yep. It’s gotta be Bobi. The problem is that we desperately need someone to spell Tyree. This leaves Hildreth on the court with a bunch of big men. I guess that could work.

Daivien is not a PG. A Hildreth/Monsanto/Bobi/Carr/Marsh lineup could work for a minute or two twice a game.

At this point Williamson’s minutes should just go to whomever on the bench can play defense. Doesn’t matter if they can’t shoot a lick.

32-10 in 15 possessions with Daivien on the floor over 10:07 in the first half

Forget the offense. Some of this is bad “luck” on made threes but 32 points on 15 possessions in 10 minutes is about as bad as imaginable for anybody. Much less two top 75 teams

100% agree. Completely misplaced priorities. Never cheer against your undergrad school. But definitely something that a UVA-affiliated asshole would do.
My brother played against Wake in soccer last year, my senior year, and even though I’m probably one of the biggest Wake fans out there, I was pretty conflicted and would have been really happy seeing my brother win. I have 0 problem rooting for your family and of course she should do that and receive 0 criticism for doing so.

However, when my bro played at Spry I didn’t gather a bunch of my friends to sit in his school’s section and flip off our student body. That’s not acceptable.

Anybody who has followed Ty over the years knows these games happen. This year, they’ve happened fewer times than in other seasons.

I don’t think he’s gassed.

But it does suck that Ituka and Williamson haven’t been healthy enough to help in the rotation.

Tough loss. Next 2 games are huge.

Yeah. He went batshit a few times. I was quite surprised he didn’t get one.
I watched the replay when I got home. After one of the weird calls in the second half I was surprised to see Forbes rip off his black vest and kick it down the length of the Wake bench.

This is what drove me crazy today and probably cost us the game. Coach took out Monsanto 8 mins in for Daivien. And this is when UVa went on a 22-2 run. And it seemed like it was Daivien's man hitting open 3's every time. Over and over they would have a wide open 3 and he was 2 or 3 steps behind. And coach left him in for 8 or 9 minutes and they buried us. Once he was taken off the court, we made a run and got it to 10 at half. I think he played 2 or 3 minutes towards the end of the game when it was over. I just don't understand why he kept him in so long knowing he isn't 100%. I would have rather had Lucas Taylor in just for the defense, since Daivian isn't even contributing on offense now either. I can't find +/- in any box score, but i would bet he was -15 today in 10 minutes of playing time.

Also, the Joel was rocking today. Its the loudest its been in a long time.
This!! WTF did he take out Monsanto 8 mins into the game for 6 mins???

Here is a random observation that I hope someone on here can answer....

I kept looking for Stan and Dinger... scanned the sidelines.... I see the UVA radio team sitting literally about mid-court. And, yes, they were the UVA radio team.

I just assumed Stan had a better spot. Then, I see Stan and Dinger sitting under our team's basket!!!! WTH??!? Anyone have the details on this? Why is the visiting program sitting almost at midcourt and Stan and Dinger are under the basket at the end of the court?

I'm sure there is a logical explanation but damn if I can think of one!
They converted some of scorers table rows to superfan seats. Not sure why the home announcers got moved to the baseline.

She’s a college kid. Let it go.

I thought they showed it today. I haven’t read the board much today since I was at the game but damn was that cool to be in there with 12,500 mostly Wake fans. I really hope the fanbase shows up again next Saturday and we get a W
Place was pretty electric today. Reminded me of the Slip days...Almost. the students really seem to be figuring it out

I said it all the way back in my freshman year (18-19) when we sucked at both revenue sports. If you win, they will come. Especially in basketball when the game is only 2 hours and more consistently entertaining. It was never the students needing to figure it out, it was us needing to figure out how to win. Imagine the student sections if we were as good now as we were under Skip.

Bennett said it was best WF atmosphere in his 14 years at UVA. 2009 and 2010 must have been good crowds before the decade of doom.
