Amazon Prime

How redundant is Netflix to Amazon streaming? Do I need both if I currently have them? We are getting ready to cut cable all together and just use airwaves and streaming services.

Arrested's new season is Netflix exclusive in the spring. I can't stream Amazon on my phone.
 
Netflix has a lot of things Amazon doesn't, but I'm not aware of too many that fit the reverse. That being said, a large portion of the Netflix exclusive stuff is complete crap.
 
House of Cards looks great and Arrested should be very good.

I don't see how they could have ever not. They have operations out the wazoo in California.
 
Amazon Local Express delivery is the tits. Same day delivery for a lot of items ordered before 11 am.
 
I just ordered a 50 inch plasma TV. As part of Amazon Prime, I was able to schedule the delivery online for Friday morning. My shipping is free. The delivery includes them bringing the TV inside, unpacking it and setting it up to make sure it works and then they take away the packing material. That alone was WELL worth my $79 this year.
 
Prime is awesome. Ordered a birthday gift at 10:30pm and it was on my doorstep by 11:00am the next morning for only $3.99.
 
Just got an e-mail that Prime membership is going up to $99/year. A little disappointed, but probably still worth it.
 
Since I have an amazon student membership my email said $49 in sept. but I am pretty sure I have used my 4 years of discount. Doesn't matter, would pay $100.
 
Just realized I got a year free when I started amazon mom so maybe that's why I still have a year of amazon student discount. Score. Way to game the system. Anyway, like I said, well worth it at $99 I would think.

Definitely way worth it. Hell, as a dad who enjoys sleeping in "late" on Saturdays, I'd pay $100 for the streaming Dora and Diego alone now that Amazon bought those away from Netflix.
 
The rumor making the rounds is the increase is due to Amazon attempting to add their own music streaming service (think Spotify) to the list of Prime benefits.

I'm still on-board at $99 for sure, but music streaming would be a definite plus, and I'd like to see an Amazon video app added for Android/iPhone.
