Maybe this is doing critical race theory and I should be banned but we used to teach people about the Gilded Age and robber barons and monopoly power. Today is 100x more unequal and the corruption is so much more baked in that somehow we confuse the ability to get a $20 toaster shipped for free same day on the backs of an entire supply, manufacturing, distribution and delivery chain of abhorrent exploitation as “freedom”. It’s only bad politics because we’ve lost the ability to hold companies accountable.
