I think this is the passage of the 14th amendment that so scholars think justifies ignoring the debt ceiling.


The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.

Pay the debts and force the Supreme Court to enforce the debt ceiling. The debt ceiling is BS. The Republicans are BS. Treat them as such and govern.

Right, that is the right move. Force the GOP to file a lawsuit to specifically force the government to default and completely tank the global economy. Have some Trump appointed district court judge in Oklafuckinghoma issue a stay and restrain the Treasury from issuing any more checks. Tat will go well for everyone. After today's meeting Biden should just cut fuckers off at the knees and issue a statement that he has directed the Secretary of the Treasury to continue operations as normal regardless of the McCarthy's refusal to raise the debt ceiling.
 
This CNN thing is a joke. Poor Caitlin Collins is doing an awful job
 
So what's going to actually happen here? McCarthy is fully at the whims of the Gaetz's of the world who made him go through 14 rounds of speaker negotiations and can end his speakership at any moment if he just up and gave a clean debt ceiling pass and I've heard nothing that indicates that the Dems want to let the pubs hold the debt ceiling hostage and enough pubs are either morons or want to use the tanked economy to help fuhrer Trump.
 
Constitutional crises vs Pubs get much more minor concessions than they’re requesting.

Republican priority is to disrupt and destroy both the economy and a lot of government function. To their degenerate minds, this is "common sense".
