Iraq 3.0

For those keeping score at home, at an annual average cost per beneficiary of approximately $6,000 (http://kff.org/medicaid/state-indicator/medicaid-payments-per-enrollee/), one Tomahawk missile = a year's Medicaid for 265 people.

Or, a year's food stamps for almost 1,000 people. http://kff.org/other/state-indicator/avg-monthly-food-stamp-benefits/

That said, it takes 10 Tomahawks to pay the salary of Raytheon's CEO, at about $16,000,000/year. http://blogs.federaltimes.com/federal-times-blog/2013/04/26/raytheon-ceo-gets-compensation-boost/

What a fucked up world we live in.

Just to be clear, we fucked up by not giving guns to the Syrians right?

We're not sure. What if some of those guns and training went to ISIS? Where we may have fucked up i not destroying ISIS' supply and exit routes into Iraq. The problem there was al Malaki was such a fuck up that he might not have allowed it.

Depends on what political party you are a member of. Omniscient alternative Republican history is that guns to the Syrians would have strengthened the moderates and not allowed ISIS to rise to power. In contrast, the dems just say that Isis' rise (as allowed/encouraged by Assad) just validates the position that pouring weapons into a complex struggle with hazy good guys and bad guys is not wise because you don't know who ends up with them in the end. Take your pick.

Wait, now THIS is irony.

Damn maybe we shouldn't have spent so much time talking about striking them and just struck them.

U.S.-led airstrikes hit grain silos and other targets in ISIS-controlled territory in northern and eastern Syria overnight, killing civilians and wounding militants, an activist group said Monday.

The aircraft may have mistaken the mills and grain storage areas in the northern Syrian town of Minbej for an ISIS base, said the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. There was no immediate comment from Washington.
...

"These were the workers at the silos. They provide food for the people," he said. He could not give a number of casualties and it was not immediately possible to verify the information.

If you like your grain silos, you can keep your grain silos.

Behed one of our citizens and we'll just kill a bunch of innocent citizens and destroy their food supply. That'll teach them to love America and push out IS! Maybe we can make another video about how IS mistreats the citizens, only we can use our footage of the grain silos blowing up...
