Full court press on Mack I would imagine.
Turner would be an option then......
I'll go ahead and predict that a press conference is going to be announced at 2 and held at 4.
Once you get past Smart, Marshall, & Howland - those were really the only possible home run hires, it becomes a crapshoot. Why not take a shot at the coach with a "big name" and pedigree.
Miller - caught lightening in a bottle and got to play tOSU & Syracuse on their downslope and then another high seed. His run was somewhat lucky. His record at Dayton until that run was very Purnell/Gregory like.
Amaker - does well at Harvard with recruiting advantages and that's probably perfect for him. don't believe his success there would translate to Wake
White - couldn't win the conference tournament
Turner - couldn't win the conference tournament
Masiello - UK grad not quite; also does not like coaching against Pitino
I could keep going, but anybody other than the top 3 is a somewhat risky hire. I think Manning is more risky than some of the others, but the higher the risk, the higher the potential reward (as well as bust).
just got an alert from espn: DM to decide between staying at Tulsa or a accepting Wake job in next day.
Sanity. If you're mad Wellman chose Manning over Howland, that's fine. But can we please stop pretending Manning is an awful ACC coaching candidate, or that Howland was risk free? Neither are true. And now our petulant fan base seems about to give our new, promising young HC a terrible reception. We're as bad as they say we are. #ManUp #SeriouslyManTheFuckUp
Any idea why Mack was not a serious option? Honestly, outside of the "home run" candidates, he seemed like the perfect fit.

He could just be a finalist?
More importantly, have we gotten a definite "no" from Shaka yet? (I kid....sort of)
169th in offensive efficiency against terrible competition. Woof.
Side note, don't like how Manning and / or his agent are handling themselves with respect to leaks.
