Pit Pet Thread

So Oliver just loves to walk around with a ball/toy/stick/etc. in his mouth, so my wife got him this gag ball from a pet boutique store yesterday. Too funny.

Deacon does this too. Might need to get one of these.

I've been waiting for this thread to be bumped, hoping it would be good news! Yay Tucker!

I won't know more until we go to the vet this afternoon, but I'm pretty pretty stoked that things are moving in a positive direction. Ibuprofen poisoning in dogs is nothing to F with.

I didn't get a costume for my pup, but her doggie daycare is having a party, and I don't want her to be the only one not dressed up. So I went shopping in my closet. I added an "m" to my Utley jersey to make her Chase Mutley.

The jersey is way too big, she just kind of looked at me like ".... whyyy?" Not sure I can make her wear that for any length of time.

Hahaha this is great. I think I have a girl crush on you.

Keep the positive updates on Tucker coming! and do not beat yourself up about the leaving the Advil in reach of the dog. Terrible shit happens in life, and you can point to almost any of them and force blame. You are not to blame here.

Just reading this for the first time. Glad Tucker is doing better!

Harry is running the short route and has confused the linebarkers, which has allowed woody to get behind the defense.

Hey Ruff. Bella does NOT like the call!

Perfect coverage from the bean dog. Woody can't get open.

Winnie is arguing the spot with the Ruff. Getting late in the game.

Winnie is going to lose her drug test appeal. Marijuana is not a performance enhancing drug.

Woody picked up the key first down on the out route! Wide retrievers win!

Watching North Carolina Now tonight, and they had a good piece on a business venture based out of a nonprofit in Greensboro that teaches job skills to adults with disabilities. I've never heard of or tried these treats with my dogs, but as a dog lover and brother of someone with cerebral palsy, it peaked my interest. Anyone heard of or tried these?

So, it's been a hectic week, but I owe you guys an update on Tucker.

When we first brought him home, it was expected that he was fully good to go. Instead, he kept drinking a TON of water and peeing all the time (we were having to wake up at 3am and 6am to take him out), indicating he was still having kidney problems. We took him back to the vet on Saturday, and his creatine levels in his blood were tracking back upwards. We were pretty discouraged, thinking the IV flush the past week helped clear his kidneys out, but that he still had permanent damage. The vet asked us to come back for more blood work in 2 days to see if his body was self-correcting or if it was actually getting worse.

He was at the vet today, and his blood is now getting better. He still drinks a lot of water, but it seems like a natural part of the correction process now. Fucking love dogs, man. He has no idea what he's doing but his body says DRINK and now he's healing himself.

TL;DR: Tucker is HEALTHY.

Tucker seems like a bauce. Glad to hear he's on the uptick.

Speaking of dogs drinking lots of water, Jackson's nerve issues seem to be manifesting themselves most noticeably in his inability to 'hold it' lately. It's not like he's choosing to go inside- he clearly has no idea that he's going (as made evident by the fact he's just kind of walking around the house, peeing as he goes). Right now we're just giving him less water to drink for when we're not there, but even that's not fail-safe. Has anyone dealt with an older dog/incontinence before?

Yay.

Yay.

They make doggie diapers. Booger's liver issues are making him pee more. If he gets really excited, like when we get home, he dribbles a little, and he's peed on his bed a couple times. It breaks your heart. It's not completely uncontrollable though.

Yeah, I'm not sure if he'd keep it on or if he'd work himself out of it. I will NOT cone-shame him just so he keeps his pants on.
