Toured the UNCC campus this year. My daughter and I were both much more impressed than we thought we would be. The new stadium is small but really nice and has plenty of room to expand. She's not going there because she got in her first choice but we were both impressed.

There's a football camp for high schoolers going on this week at UNCC. I'm not sure what qualifies UNCC to hold a football camp.
 
So, all of our games will be on tv in a major media market and yours will not be. See the advantages of being in a majkor media market instead of a little hasbeen mill town?

Charlotte 49ers, IMG College Partner with
WCCB Charlotte to Televise Home Football Games

Charlotte, N.C. -- The Charlotte 49ers have announced that media rights holder IMG College has entered into a three-year deal with WCCB Charlotte to broadcast available Charlotte 49ers home football games. In 2013, they will broadcast all six home games from McColl-Richardson Field at Jerry Richardson Stadium.
“We have been working for several months now with WCCB to make these games available to those fans who aren’t able to get out to campus,” Charlotte 49ers Director of Athletics Judy Rose said. “We are thrilled to grow a partnership with Jim Babb and WCCB. Their enthusiasm for our program was apparent from our very first meeting, and we are excited to have them on our team. To be able to televise each of our home games in our very first season speaks to the excitement surrounding our program, and we thank both WCCB-TV and IMG College for their work in making this happen.”
The television broadcasts will include the 49ers inaugural game, Saturday, August 31 vs. Campbell. Each of the 49ers home games in 2013 will be played on Saturdays at 12 noon at the 49ers 15,300-seat Jerry Richardson Stadium.
“WCCB-TV and Bahakel Communications are extremely pleased to be able to offer Charlotte 49ers football to our viewers throughout the Charlotte market and we believe the 49ers will be a very attractive addition to the televised sports menu,” said Jim Babb, Executive Vice President and COO of Bahakel Communications. “With over 26,000 students, 60,000 alumni plus faculty, staff and friends in the Charlotte area, we believe 49er football will be very popular and well received. Jim White, VP and general manager of WCCB-TV, and our entire staff is very excited about this opportunity and we look forward to working with Tod Rosensweig, his IMG colleagues and especially with athletic director Judy Rose, Coach Brad Lambert and the entire University family.”
“As the multi-media rights holder for Charlotte 49ers athletics, IMG College is proud to partner with WCCB to bring our inaugural season of football to the city of Charlotte,” said Tod Rosensweig, General Manager of Charlotte IMG Sports Marketing. “These telecasts of our home games will expose 49ers football to a broad audience and will provide access to our games to students, alumni and fans who can’t get to our games.”
Through the 49ers membership in Conference USA, the league’s television partners have first right to broadcast Charlotte 49ers home football games. Once they have made their selections, those rights are available for local broadcast. WCCB Charlotte will televise each of the games that are available for the next three years, including all six home games in 2013.
The Charlotte 49ers will debut their start-up football program in 2013 under head coach Brad Lambert. In 2013 and 2014, the 49ers will compete as an FCS Independent. Charlotte, which joins Conference USA in all other sports in 2013, will begin competition in Conference USA football in 2015 as a member of that FBS conference with an opportunity to gain full FBS member status with bowl eligibility in 2016. Charlotte, which accepted an invitation into Conference USA on May 4, 2012, is one of the nation’s first teams to be welcomed into an FBS Conference before having held its first practice.

Actually, the people who need to get a life are the ones who respond to this guy. We're above this; leave him alone and he'll go away.
 
I appreciate his enthusiasm for his alma mater. App fans used to have that kind of pride before they drifted back to irrelevancy. UNC Charlotte is on the incline. Time to accept that.

When did App drift back to irrelevancy, and where does that mean Wake is drifting by the same standards?
 
Screamin, App set the bar so high, that when we don't win national titles we are apparently irrelevant. Good to know.

Ahhhh, a local TV deal. No regional syndication. I'm sure Charlotte residents are just dying to see this.
 
Charlotte is big time and only getting bigger. I appreciate the updates GoNiners. Any idea how much tickets will be?

JV Leagues have always been irrelevant. Charlotte is at the adult's table. When App gets there, let us know.
