Tennessee is turning into a real backwards POS place. Shithole state trying to be Mississippi.
But the things is, ironically those actions are further fueling their downward spiral. What you're seeing among the religious right is a group of people becoming more and more threatened and desperate. They're seeing church attendance and belief in the Christian God declining at a rapid pace and they are threatened with losing the dominance they have enjoyed for a century or more. To protect that, they are openly attempting to write the word of God into local, state, and federal law. It will only get worse as their base continues to decline.
It's easy to be short sighted when the end times are nigh! I guess. But the things is, ironically those actions are further fueling their downward spiral.
Apparently, we now know without a shadow of a doubt what jesus would do.
One can certainly make a strong argument that white Evangelicals have become the very thing they're constantly fearful of and preach against in their churches - a false religion with false teachings who worship a fake Christ (Anti-Christ) and have been led astray by "the things of this world." As I've read elsewhere, it may finally be time to recognize that Evangelical Christianity is less a theological than simply a cultural and social concept.White American Evangelical Christianity is the heresy. They ignore church history and increasingly ignore the Bible. Their thirst for earthy power and wealth is antithetical to the teaching of Jesus.
