The Walking Dead Season THREE Thread!!!

As for Carl I think what he is turning into is just stages leading up to turning into a mini governor, same with Shane he was headed that way. Rick is not the leader no more it is a democracy. It is kind of hard to be a good leader when you are in emotional duress.

I don't understand some of you. Why do you repeatedly watch a show that you hate only to bitch about it to people who like it? Was the show the best it could be? No. Could it be better? Much. I don't I just love it because of the premise and possibilities of the show and will continue to watch.

So hilarious the way they had her escape just at the last second but still couldn't take on a weak ass Milton zombie with a weapon in her hand knowing he was coming right at her.
What made that even more ridiculous was that two weeks ago THREE zombies sneak attacked her, pinned her helplessly against a tree, and she was still able to fight them all off, take out her pocket knife, and kill all three. And yet, with a weapon already in hand, against one zombie, she's overpowered. It's just consistency that makes the show so frustrating sometimes.

Do you think Carl would have killed anyone that come along he didn't know? I do. He stomped off having a hissy fit for Rick bring back kids and old people they didn't know. They need to replenish numbers hopefully not with preteens and old people picking up new people along the way and Carl doesn't seem open to.
I agree with him about that too. It's not about replenishing the numbers. There's only so much food to go around and taking in an entire nursing home and kindergarten class seems counterproductive to staying alive. Because 98% of those people won't be able to help them fight, and yet will still be there to drain their resources. Taking on someone like Tyrese is a different story, but bringing in random old people and kids is dumb as hell.

Rick needs to put a foot in Carl's ass and remind him who's boss. He's Carl's goddamned father. Act like it. The only way Carl's panties should be in a wad is from Rick snatching his little prissy, snotty ass up and reminding him just who the fuck is in charge. The group may be democratic but Carl is Rick's kid. The kid in the woods was told by Carl, at gunpoint, as well as Herschel to drop the weapon. Not hold on and think about it, not lean forward and say "I'm handing it to you." Drop the fucking gun. No? Okay. Bang fuck you're dead. But Carl acting like a pissy little shit and throwing tantrums when things don't go his little bitchy way is tiresome. Guess he forgot that his scrawny little dick wouldn't even be there if not for his dad hauling ass to Herschel's farm in the first place. Ungrateful little ass flea.

Because Carl is growing cold and heartless. The talked about him losing his morale compass in the talking dead with Tyrese and Darryl.

Moral compass dude....moral =/= morale

I definitely agree, but Rick needs to let Carl do things on his own...Rick needs to be able to depend on Carl sometimes and not have him be a needy little kid...that's just another thing to keep Rick from completing the tasks he needs to complete with as much focus as he needs...if he's always worrying about little Carl, then his decisions are going to be compromised.

Carl needs to be treated more like an adult, but he still needs to know his place....if you're going to let him protect Herschel and the girls, don't bitch about how he does that.

How did Carl suddenly become the "protector" of people his own age? Shit, Carl's still just a kid. Yeah, he's done some hardcore stuff but there are plenty of hardcore guys around the group that were older, tougher, and had more pubes than Carl who got wasted. Rick is still a dad and his "protect everyone" angle is only compounded regarding his own kid. And Carl has show the propensity to make some dumb fucking decisions. But they'll all pale compared to the dumb one his hormone-flushed pea brain is coming up with next.

Carl's only other option was to make sure the guy laid his gun down and then took him as a prisoner...and I definitely don't think many have confidence in 10 year old carl to keep a teenaged prisoner in line while escorting a crippled Herschel, a 15 year old girl and a baby back to the prison.

I don't think Carl should be treated as much like an adult, but I'm saying if Rick's going to go that route, he can't sit there and berate him every time he makes a grown up decision.

That was LOL bad. No wonder they fired Glen Mazzara.

Next season supposedly the walkers/byyyyters become the main enemy. Much cooler show when they constantly are under the threat of the dead.

Yes as a father his blatant disrespect for his dad is really starting to tick me off.

While I agree with this you can just kill or abandon the old and the young can you? Would that make you worse then the governor? He killed the strong and kept the old, young, and weak.

It isn't even believable. It is contrived and that is what makes it so frustrating to watch.

Little preview article about next season.

The Walking Dead has quietly begun replenishing its ranks in the wake of Sunday’s deadly Season 3 finale.

TVLine has confirmed that the AMC smash has issued a Season 4 casting call for the series regular role of “Roy Stark,” who’s described as a former army medic who is deeply haunted by his past — pre- and post-zombie apocalypse. As a result, he’s a bit of a loner, although he maintains a charming/self-deprecating/confident public face.

The part calls for an actor in his early 30s to mid 40s.

In an interview with TVLine on Monday, Robert Kirkman confirmed that the show’s fourth season (bowing in October) will feature some “big differences” from Season 3, including “new locations and new places to discover and explore.” The two seasons will share at least one common thread: David Morrissey will continue to raise hell as the Governor.

OK, comic book aficionados — does this character remind you of anyone? Abraham, perhaps? Got casting tips? Hit the comments!

Hershel was a bitch.

"He gunned that boy down, Rick."

No. He tried the old "Sure, just take the shotgun from me even though you said drop it and ill blast you in the face trick"

Carl should have dropped that kid.

Read somewhere online that Laurie Holden (Andrea) said she was called back after filming wrapped because they wanted to give her more screentime in the finale, hoping to get an emotional reaction from the audience and gain sympathy.

More than anything, I think that shows how out of touch the writers are with the general audience. You can't take a character that's universally hated and drag her scenes out, thinking it'll make her more sympathetic. It just annoys the audience that we have to spend even more time with such a moronic character. If they wanted a more emotional reaction from the audience, they should've written her better for the last two seasons. T-Dog's death was more emotional than Andrea's and they didn't even give him any fucking lines.

It seems like these writers are desperate to create a singular character that can unite the audience in hatred. First it was Lori, then it was Andrea, now Carl is moving down that road.

no, Carl is going to be awesome. (I think I remember someone saying he's a badass in the comics, too?)

I still can't get over the stupidity, from a writing perspective, of the raid on the prison. Come in guns a blazin', retreat at first little sign of resistance, then the "mutiny" because they didn't sign up for this? What the F did you think you we're going over there for you half wits?

Add to that that some people, who had guns, just stood there and let the Governor blow their heads off, and I feel like this script was a term paper put off till the last day and turned in at the last possible minute.

And nevermind the whole approach Rick and Company had: get the Gov's forces into the prison, lull them with some confusion over where everyone's gone, then, as they start to leave, basically let them all get into their trucks and drive off. Pick them off as they pour out of the door? Nah, that makes too much goddamned sense. Where did all those grenades go? Let the Gov's group get piled up in a room then toss a couple in. Boom! Dead or dying.
