Urban Meyer Credibility Watch (NWT)

Meyer is a POS. There is no arguing that. Should he be fired for this? Probably not. Is there some other reason lurking in the shadows for him to be shitcanned? Probably yes. But it hasn't.

You're so right. Why fire a guy over protecting a serial spousal abuser?

The POS is those who protect those who prey on women.

Smith interview was compelling and we all learned he was just protecting himself from wife attacks and we all agree terrible luck that he gets fired for protecting himself

Let me guess, he’s counseling with Urban and Shelley and reconnecting with Jesus and they’re helping him forgive his wife for her selfish actions

I agree with what others have said that a shame a guy just defend himself against wife attacks (which we know was the case after the interview) and loses his job anyway.

We agree with the idea that all the coaches ask Jesus into their heart as their savior.

Man, I don’t buy Smith’s account. Sorry, sounds like BS and there are contrary accounts of what happened. He is also the grandson of a coaching legend in Ohio...you think Winston got preferential treatment at FSU, I would bet this was used with similar baby gloves.

Educated guess, Urban and Smith had coordinated and tOSU-generated statements that came out at almost exactly the same time to clear Urban. Grandpa is a legend and will take care of Smith (even though $340,000/yr seems like a lot for a wr coach). Some wonderful alum will hire him to some pie job as long as he says the right things to help clear his coach.

Winning will still trump everything in Columbus and most other colleges-especially morality and decency.

How in the fuck are there still people who think project veritas is credible after the bullshit they have been busted for? FFS people, use your noodle and think for yourselves.

How does reporting what you are aware of to your employer/superiors and ensuring that law enforcement is involved classify as “protecting”?

Oh please. All you do is repeat smears and bullshit. He snuck into a building and recorded people.

Sounds like Baron Cohen - no complaint there.

you consider borat a reporter of the news?

https://thespun.com/college-football/brett-mcmurphys-original-zach-smith-report-appears-to-have-been-edited

Thanks to Reddit and the wonders of Facebook journalism, people have uncovered that McMurphy's original report has been edited several times without any sort of mention or notice to readers. Most notably, on July 23rd, the original story reported that Zach Smith had been "arrested". Meyer's response on July 24th to that story and line of questioning at B1G media days is well known by now. On July 30th, McMurphy edits his story in Facebook to state that Smith had been "investigated" (without any sort of posted correction).

Semantics, maybe, but that seems like a pretty huge distinction. It's also interesting that he never even attempted to interview the Meyers, Zach Smith, any other assistant/assistant's wife, or anyone associated with OSU, for the huge story that was supposed to make/remake his career. Regardless of what happens with Meyer, McMurphy is and always has been a hack journalist.

Since OSU will take two weeks to complete its' investigation, it is apparent that they are seeking a way to keep him as head football coach. Otherwise, it would not take this long for an exit strategy and a payout.

My guess is Deaconbd has pictures of Jerry Sandusky and Urban Meyer on the ceiling of his bedroom and jerks off to them every night. That goes along with having one butt cheek with "Free Jerry" as a tattoo and "Property of Urban Meyer" on the other one.

He probably has a transcript of Jerry's trial on his night stand that's highlighted to give him tips.

In this "me too" era, tOSU may also be looking at the AD and seeing if there is sufficient "there" there to need to do anything with him. That may be part of the need for two weeks.

The Police Department in Powell is not looking very good in this either. Lots of loose ends in their investigations that don't seem to have been tied up properly.

Interested to see what comes out from/about the Powell Police. There are interwebs rumors that Courtney Smith called 911 60+ times in a 90 day time period - basically weaponized 911 calls during marital disputes. I have no idea if that is true, but one would think they're looking into any/all 911 calls as part of this investigation.

Yeah they are just waiting for the media frenzy to die down so they can announce "nothing to see here" and go back to their business as usual. They are betting on some NFL training camp story to pop up between now and then to steal the headlines.

A week later and we still basically know no more than we did when the story broke.
