NC Deacs, Rise Up: A Call to Action for FSU on Saturday

Do they have editors? That first paragraph is horrible.

That is poor writing throughout. Despite that, he makes good points and it's good to see the complacency argument that I've been making for years out in the open.

I'm on my phone and it won't let me tag for some reason. Somebody throw a "ph grades paper" on there for me please.

Oh yeah, well The Jerkstore called and they're running out of you.

I rest my case. Is that the best you can do? Wow. You really told me off. The ole jerk store. The geek factor here is off the charts.

This crap is seriously comical. Unreal their are Wake grads who talk like this. Power Rangers. It's hilarious.

there*, Mr. Wake Forest graduate.

I rest my case. Is that the best you can do? Wow. You really told me off. The ole jerk store. The geek factor here is off the charts.

And you just called people "total freaking morons". Do you get how stupid you look right now? Or is that above your head as well?

Haha yes because that was a serious joke that was trying to really hurt your feelings.. God your a fucking loser.

Deep down mack supports this. No question he wants [Redacted] gone like everyone else.

is it just me or are we about to witness the second greatest "wanted poster" back fire in wake history.

Dear Lord, do you go out of your way to be miserable, or does it just come naturally at this point?

It's a fine article, and much better than many of the pieces I wrote for the OG&B many moons ago. Glad I wasn't frequenting the boards back then to see what an old ass grad student at Duke thought about my weekly football game recaps. (I especially recall going through an extended alliteration period in my articles back then, the horror!) Writing is a craft that, unlike lesser pursuits such as sociology, takes a lot of time and experience to hone. College newspapers and literary magazines are just the beginning of that long, rocky process.

Good work, Tribblite. Keep banging that complacency drum, as you can. It's a recurring problem that seems to be getting worse.

Pretty much any scholarly field, particularly social sciences, requires a lot of writing. If you're going to take a personal shot, at least think it through.

I like the irony of you lauding this kid for saying the stuff you've been calling me contrarian for saying all these years.

You were a huge dick. I normally agree with most of the stuff you post on the sports board, but it was just unnecessary. Why would you want to take a shot against someone so clearly in our camp, unlike most students, who decided to publish his viewpoints. I like the prose of a well-written article on Grantland from time to time (or something of the like), but for the most part it's about substance.

Feb 9th will go down in the annals of Deacon history and the 'Deacon 10' will be forever considered GODS!

There are probably better ways to constructively criticize the article than posting it on a message board about an article of an OG&B writer, especially in that manner.

Although, as I type that out I guess it's hypocritical to say that and then criticize the play of other college students on a basketball court. I can't have it both ways. C'est la vie!

who the fuck is macktheknife?

some old dude who lives in a small NC town and thinks he has important connections with the AD?

Some advice:

Know exactly how you're going to behave before you walk through the turn-style. Be confident in knowing what you're there to accomplish.

DV7, Irish, and others have collaborated to concoct a reasonable, responsible, and yet hopefully, rambunctious blueprint for everybody to follow to make this thing a success.

You're going to feel awkward at times. You're going to catch stares. You're going to step outside of yourself and wonder whether you're doing the right thing. The easiest thing, in that moment, is going to be to pause in your efforts and blend in with the majority; I'm pleading with you not to do that. Be bold and know that you're on the forefront of effecting change.

This thing is happening. Even if the physical turnout is 1/10th of what you're expecting it to be (as stratt can attest, that's not an outlandish scenario), that would just make it even more essential for you to stand out and individually help with this charge.

Wake could come out on fire on the court or you could upset the nice old couple behind you; you need to know going into this thing that what you're doing is right. Good luck everyone & Go Deacs!

Dude, enough of the psychobabble. The answer is the same one that worked for me in Atlanta. Enter the game with a nice buzz. Not drunk. Just buzzed.

Someone could give the guys on the team a "heads up" that this isn't against them at all, #BuzzOut is 100% behind the players. If they half expect something, it won't totally distract them when winter hits.

Would probably even be worthwhile to have a sign or two stating you're behind the players while chanting so that the rest of the fan base understands.
