The number is 19 from what i hear, and what i heard last year (13) was confirmed by a few others. Since internally we set the line at 17.5, 19 would not be unreasonable
That's precisely the dilemma a lot of Wake Fans face. 19 wins (especially given this schedule) is not enough to justify keeping [Redacted]. Even if you ignore the past three years, the recruiting misses, the arrogance, and the complete lack of an ability to connect with the fan base, 19 wins given the talent and schedule we have is "meh" at best.
The problem is we shouldn't ignore all of that. And even looking at the past 3 years in the light most favorable to [Redacted] and the athletic department any rebuild should have you back to an appropriate baseline within 4 years. For Wake that means at minimum making the NCAA tournament.
The last coach at wake to go 4 years without making a tournament was Staak and he was fired after his fourth season. When you factor in strength of schedule his record over those 4 years was much better than [Redacted]'s has been so far.
I'd rather win 11 games vs. 19 if I knew that would be the difference in getting rid of or keeping [Redacted]. I would imagine most Wake fans feel the same way.
