Thomas calling out the doubters MTOW

The number is 19 from what i hear, and what i heard last year (13) was confirmed by a few others. Since internally we set the line at 17.5, 19 would not be unreasonable

That's precisely the dilemma a lot of Wake Fans face. 19 wins (especially given this schedule) is not enough to justify keeping [Redacted]. Even if you ignore the past three years, the recruiting misses, the arrogance, and the complete lack of an ability to connect with the fan base, 19 wins given the talent and schedule we have is "meh" at best.

The problem is we shouldn't ignore all of that. And even looking at the past 3 years in the light most favorable to [Redacted] and the athletic department any rebuild should have you back to an appropriate baseline within 4 years. For Wake that means at minimum making the NCAA tournament.

The last coach at wake to go 4 years without making a tournament was Staak and he was fired after his fourth season. When you factor in strength of schedule his record over those 4 years was much better than [Redacted]'s has been so far.

I'd rather win 11 games vs. 19 if I knew that would be the difference in getting rid of or keeping [Redacted]. I would imagine most Wake fans feel the same way.

Even if he gets to 19 or 20 what does the AD think is going to happen? There is no warm embrace from the fan base ever coming.

The man has no charisma, chutzpah or whatever you want to call it. Bz would have much been better suited for an office job, behind a desk!!!

FIFY - Saying that Buzz belongs "behind a desk" is an insult to office workers everywhere...

Wellman doesn't give a flip if the fan base ever comes around on [Redacted]. The new TV money ensures that declining DC contributions really have little effect on the bottom line.

Wellman, and the rest of the athletic department access whores (I'm looking your way Braces...tell us more about your lunches seated within 50 feet of Wellman and Bz), are far more concerned about being "right" than the success of our program. At this point they are so invested in Bz, they will wait this thing out for years just for that one 21-12 season with a 2nd round NCAA loss so they can claim "told you so."

Fuck them for holding us all hostage the last couple years.

Who was the last coach fired because of their regular season performance? And it wasn't Staak.

This is the biggest travesty of all. The new TV money should be the great equalizer but instead our AD uses it as an excuse to fuck our fans. Fuck you Wellman.

Best post on this thread. Dan has it all wrong.

Wow, I never thought a loss by nine points to Kansas would have us talking NCAA tournament. I remember when we whooped Kansas by thirty and no one was saying how good we were which was proven over the course of the season and the early exit from the NCAA.

Very far off.

Most Wake fans don't post on these boards. More importantly, most Wake fans wouldn't ever pull against the team regardless of the stipulations.

Yeah, this is where we are.

This isn't true. Wake fans wouldn't consider it a victory if we make one 2nd round appearance and then go through the rebuilding bull shit that we have the past few years. Sustained success is the only thing that "people invested in Bz" would rub in the face of the Buzz-out movement.

Unless the team just shits the bed this year(which isn't out of the realm of possibility) then the silly little club known as #Buzzout will be even more irrelevant than it is today. It's not like we won't be better next year than we are this year.

The point is that the bar for sustained success has fallen so low in year four of [Redacted] that it doesn't remotely resemble the same bar that our 61-31 coach was fired for coming off of a win in the NCAA Tournament. Buzz is so far away from meeting that mark that it's just a slap in the face to anybody who still gives a shit now. And BuzzOut won't be irrelevant until Buzz is out. Like was posted a ton yesterday from people who actually watched the game - Buzz's coaching was pitiful. We had some guys rise to the occasion in a big way, caught a good team on an off-night, and were on the receiving end of a prolonged teaching lesson. I don't know how much of yesterday you can attribute to Buzz...

Beginning to think the AD is planting moles on these threads. Know it has been discussed earlier, but they look to be in feeding season now...

Things are so bad that the AD plants are using a 9 point loss a reason to put reasonable fans in our place.
