Republican Nominee List Dwindling

Just go left/right with each person who posts. I am on my phone so it would be pretty time consuming but I'll look at when I get back.

Mind you this is technically a conservative thread so if anyone should be active or over represented it would be pubs.

Ill start with a few I know have posted:

RIGHT: Wrangor, DeacMan

LEFT: PH, Wakeandbake, RJ, double zero, thinkingwithmydeac, beachbumdeac, onw, deacfreke07, marquee

LIBERTARIAN: Skins

Keep adding to this list from this thread and let's see how it adds up. I imagine my math is going to be a lot closer than yours.

There are a lot I am not sure exactly so just adding the ones I am pretty sure about.

I would say bigdoublezero, thinkingwithmydeac, onw, deacfreak, and marquee are all solidly moderate
 
ONW is more liberal than I am as is bobstack and bkf.....
 
I am more libertarian than anything else. I usually agree with the left-leaning posters on the social issues and with the right on fiscal matters. But my sense is that the board is more liberal than conservative.
 
A thread skewering pubs is going to draw fewer conservatives. Check out the capital gains thread for a good list of conservatives.
 
I love the direction these threads take. It's like a Chose Your Own adventure book.

....this may be why the left doesn't think there is a liberal majority. I guess if you redefine/move the goal posts you can have whatever majority you want.

I'll give you ONW and DeacFreak. Do you really think bigdoublezero, thinkingwithmydeac, and marquee are further left than they are in the middle?

The problem is that if you through in "the middle" you can define it how you want. For instance, name a poster in the middle that leans right. You probably can't come up with a lot because you lean left. However, ask Wrangor to name posters that are in the middle but lean left he would not have a long list.

What?

I think "the middle" has a fairly clear meaning when it comes to politics.

OK...now be honest and name the posters in the middle that lean left. I would bet that list is a LOT larger.
 
Our definition of the middle is always going to be very opiniated. What is not is voting history. So I would say that if you examine voting patterns of posters that this board leans heavily to the left (not counting BKF who apparently voted straight Republican until Bush murdered his stepson's cousin). I define liberals on this board as people who vote Democrat 2 out of 3 and I define conservatives as people who vote republican 2/3. If you asked people to define themselves by who they actually vote for (which in the end is what matters) I Think you would find that this board is overwhelmingly liberal (certainly if you look at active members).

Off the top of my head: bigdoublezero, FuckMouthedRube, thinkingwithmydeac... ChrisL maybe? I don't really know. The list isn't larger
 
I don't consider liberal to be a negative. I have given more is posrep to ONW than anyone else on this board probably and we agree on almost nothing. He is liberal and I am conservative. It is what it is.

nobody is saying that you are insulting people by calling them liberal, just that your perspective is pretty skewed about who you think is liberal rather than just close to the middle
