Hunter Sallis

He’s really starting to embrace his role on this team. It’s awesome to see him flourish.
Sallis is still in the process of getting his confidence rebuilt. Also, he has grown into his role as the alpha on this team. He seemed to defer to Hildreth and Carr earlier in the season. They had Wake Forest seniority over him, so he deferred to them, particularly early season Cam. Hildreth's injury may have helped Sallis feel he needed to be more assertive at the offensive end.

Love this. Dude was a capable but not elite 3PT shooter. But my goodness did he play far above his size when it came to getting to the rim.

Edit: I definitely think you can see some similarities between Teague and Sallis too. Three level scorers. Crazy athletes. Adequate ball handlers who weren’t necessarily point guards but could create.

Anyone who can read that article and think transfers are hurting the college game is an unserious person.
I wonder how many super highly rated recruits go to blue-blood programs and do exactly this:

"His job was to defend and not mess up. If he did, Gonzaga coach Mark Few had way too many great guards to let Sallis work through his mistakes. Sallis, intentionally, didn’t shoot. He just guarded."

When they could come to a program like Wake and thrive.

Apparently if it wasn’t for COVID Sallis probably would’ve ended up at Carolina

Great article and insight into how Coach Forbes approached his recruitment of Sallis and how Hunter has turned his fortunes around.

Thanks to him mom for sharing him with us. What an amazing young man! We love you Ms. Livingston!!

We need a banner with ManMan, LaRavia, Ty, Carr, and Hunter in the rafters as they are the cornerstones of Wake's basketball resurgence.

And a huge F.U. to Wellman for putting our flagship athletic program 6 feet under. POS.

but what's the most rebounds she had in a game?
unclear, but she went coast to coast through the Omaha Marian defenders for a finger-roll winning layup as time expired in the 1984 Nebraska high school championship game.
