    Crazy weather

The weird weather changes we've had recently bring to mind the only recorded tornado in Roanoke, VA history. Today marks the 50th anniversary of that event. I think I posted about it some years ago in another thread, but here's what I recall: I was dating a pretty, but somewhat crazy gal who...

    Pathetic UNC football

They look like the 5th best team in North Carolina (at best). Can ECU beat them next week in Greenville (UNC will have 10 players out due to suspension)? Their last game is Western Carolina at home, but they might be out of bowl consideration by then. Hell, The Hat could be history by then.

    Auto insurance (accident) help

Hoping for some advice. My six month old Kia Cadenza was rear-ended (and totaled) while sitting in our driveway by a neighbor's car (parking brake apparently failed and it rolled down the hill and into our driveway). The Kia was a left-over 2015 that I paid right at $40,000 for. It has a...

    Mesh home Wi-Fi networks

With the launch of Eero and the positive reviews it's receiving, I'm curious about thoughts on the short-term future of mesh Wi-Fi networks. $499 for a pack of three Eero's seems like a ridiculous amount to spend, but trying to get a decent signal in our three story house has been a constant...

    Robbin Thompson - RIP

Thompson was a really good regional musician who's best known songs are Candy Apple Red, Brite Eyes and Sweet Virginia Breeze (now one of Virginia's state songs). Influenza

Anyone had this ish yet? Wife is on day 6; I'm on day 5. This is the third time in my life that I've had real flu and do not want a fourth go round. She tried Tamiflu, but the virus laughed at it. At a mere $100 a script after insurance, it was a bad joke.
