Some big upsets in the noms this morning...von Sidow, Nolte for Supporting Actor? No Fassbender or DiCaprio for Actor? Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close? Strange indeed. Also, The Artist was fabulous. Liked it way more than The Descendants. It should walk away with Best Picture.

I always thought they were stand-ins. The guy talks about standing-in for Brad Pitt on Seven Years in Tibet. Either way, I like them, but they make it an awkward movie to watch with parents.

Nothing too shocking with the film noms, but some of the television nominations are head-scratchers. Of the four comedy actors who won Emmys this year (Parsons, McCarthy, Bowen, Burrell), NONE are even nominated for a Globe. Strange indeed.

Yes, it's a novel. Half-Broke Horses. It's the story of the author's grandmother...very good read.
